Preparation for the Saeima elections is proceeding as planned
Preparation for the upcoming Saeima elections in Latvia is on schedule, according to officials from the Central Election Commission and the State Agency for Digital Development.
As Latvia prepares for the Saeima elections this autumn, officials have reported that preparations are proceeding as planned. During a meeting of the Saeima State Administration and Local Government Committee, Central Election Commission chairman MΔris Zviedris informed lawmakers about the development of several guidelines to facilitate the voting process, including instructions for submitting candidate lists and establishing foreign voting precincts. There are also ongoing efforts to finalize guidelines for special voting circumstances such as voting in prisons and by mail from abroad.
In collaboration with local election commissions, the Central Election Commission has been identifying polling place locations in each municipality.
