As Latvia prepares for the Saeima elections this autumn, officials have reported that preparations are proceeding as planned. During a meeting of the Saeima State Administration and Local Government Committee, Central Election Commission chairman Māris Zviedris informed lawmakers about the development of several guidelines to facilitate the voting process, including instructions for submitting candidate lists and establishing foreign voting precincts. There are also ongoing efforts to finalize guidelines for special voting circumstances such as voting in prisons and by mail from abroad.

In collaboration with local election commissions, the Central Election Commission has been identifying polling place locations in each municipality.
