A caregiver and her husband from Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Brazil, were arrested on charges of extorting an 86-year-old man. The victim sought help at a notary public's office, where he revealed that he was coerced by the caregiver to create a will that would benefit her and her husband. The caregiver allegedly intimidated the elderly man during the process, leading him to cry and plead for assistance, prompting the notary to alert the police.

Investigations disclosed that the couple met the elderly man while he was residing in a nursing home, where the caregiver worked. After realizing that he had no children or relatives, the caregiver befriended him and subsequently invited him to live with her and her husband.
