The Civil Police of Maranhão has recovered 150 stolen cell phones in a recent operation under the My Phone Back program, which aims to combat mobile phone theft in the state.

The Civil Police of Maranhão successfully wrapped up another phase of the 'My Phone Back' program, which is part of the state's initiative to tackle the rampant issue of mobile phone theft and robbery. In this operation, which took place between February 26th and 27th, the police managed to recover a total of 150 phones that had been reported stolen. These devices are set to be returned to their rightful owners shortly, reflecting the program's commitment to restoring victims' property.

Since its inception, the My Phone Back program has achieved significant success, with over 5,500 cell phones recovered across Maranhão. This initiative, led by the Maranhão state government and coordinated by the Secretary of State for Public Security (SSP), emphasizes not only the recovery of stolen property but also aims to reinforce public safety and deter future criminal activities related to mobile phone theft. By identifying and returning stolen devices, the program plays a crucial role in protecting the community's assets.

In addition to the recovery of phones, this month, 500 individuals were summoned by the Civil Police to appear at the SSP. The summons indicates ongoing efforts to curb crime in the region, as the police continue their commitment to ensuring public safety and fostering trust in law enforcement. The success of the My Phone Back program exemplifies proactive measures taken by the Maranhão authorities to address community concerns regarding theft and safety.
