In a series of devastating attacks on February 28, Russian missile and drone strikes in Ukraine led to the tragic deaths of four individuals and left 25 others injured. The Ukrainian Air Force reported the use of an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with 105 drones, including around 60 Shahed drones. Remarkably, Ukrainian defenses managed to intercept and down 96 of these aerial threats across various regions of the country.

The most severe impacts were felt in northeastern Sumy Oblast, where local authorities confirmed that four people lost their lives due to Russian bombardment. Among the deceased were two men, ages 21 and 31, and two women, aged 67 and 72. Additionally, four others sustained injuries in the same area, highlighting the civilian toll of ongoing hostilities amid the ongoing conflict.

In Kharkiv Oblast, another region heavily affected by the recent strikes, seven individuals, including a nine-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, were reported injured. Further reports indicated that three more people were wounded in the eastern Donetsk Oblast, showcasing the widespread and indiscriminate nature of the attacks that continue to plague various regions of Ukraine, emphasizing the urgent need for global attention and response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the country.
