Blue Zone on the waterfront of João Pessoa begins on three avenues starting Saturday (28), says Semob-JP
The Blue Zone parking system in João Pessoa will be expanded on three avenues starting Saturday, aiming to improve traffic flow and parking accessibility.
The city of João Pessoa, Brazil, is set to expand its Blue Zone parking system along the waterfront, as announced by the Superintendência Executiva de Mobilidade Urbana (Semob-JP). This new regulation will be implemented starting Saturday, the 28th, covering the avenues Almirante de Tamandaré, Cabo Branco, and João Maurício, which are located in the busy districts of Cabo Branco, Tambaú, and Manaíra. This initiative intends to streamline traffic and enhance parking efficiency in these high-traffic areas.
During the initial phase of the rollout, the implementation will focus on educational outreach along the streets perpendicular to these designated avenues. This approach allows drivers to acclimate to the new parking system before enforcement begins, providing a grace period for the public to adapt. The expansion aims to manage vehicular congestion and ensure that both residents and tourists can easily access one of the city's most popular areas.
The parking will be in effect daily from 9 AM to 9 PM, including holidays, with set tariffs applicable during those hours. This move is seen as a critical step toward more organized urban mobility in João Pessoa, as the local government strives to create a safer, more accessible environment for both residents and visitors, ensuring that local businesses benefit from improved traffic flow and parking availability.
