Blue Zone in Santos undergoes a 6% adjustment; see the new values

The parking fees for the Blue Zone in Santos, Brazil, will increase by 6.06% starting this Thursday, with new pricing structures implemented.

The Blue Zone parking system in Santos, located in São Paulo’s coastal region, is set to increase its fees by 6.06% as of this Thursday (26). This adjustment brings forth a new pricing table for parking services, where the time minimum has been revised to allow activation for 30 minutes, though the maximum ticket duration remains capped at two hours. Previously, the half-hour ticket option was solely available for extending time on an already purchased longer ticket.

The city's administration attributes this fee increase to the variation in the National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) during the specified period from July 2023 to November 2024, in accordance with contractual guidelines. It has been noted that the last change in the Blue Zone parking fee occurred two years ago, in February 2024, indicating a close monitoring of inflationary trends affecting local services.

The municipality has released the new pricing details, which include updates such as R$ 1.73 for 30 minutes compared to the previous R$ 1.63 solely for extension, highlighting the adjustments aimed to keep pace with inflation. This decision reflects the city's ongoing efforts to regulate urban mobility while responding to economic factors that influence the cost of public services.
