On Friday, a retired military police officer named Francisco Marques dos Reis, also known as 'Max', and another unidentified man were tragically shot dead by gunmen in a rural area of Tarumã, located in Western Manaus. The shocking incident, which has drawn considerable attention, was captured on security cameras, showing Max being ambushed in a room by at least four attackers, who were armed and wearing masks. They assaulted him before dragging him to another room where he was executed.

The police confirmed that the second man, who was also present at the site, was found dead in a vehicle parked at the property, adding to the grim details of the crime. The police have launched an investigation but have not yet revealed the identities of the assailants or the motivations behind the attack. The area has been cordoned off for forensic examination, and the bodies were taken by the Legal Medical Institute for autopsy.
