Clóvis Leoncio Coutinho, a sub-lieutenant in the Military Police, was tragically killed on the night of Sunday, October 15, during an attempted robbery in Ramos, located in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The incident occurred as he was approached by two men on a motorcycle while near Avenida Teixeira de Castro and Rua Marquês de Oliveira. Reports indicate that the officer attempted to resist the robbery, which led to an exchange of gunfire between him and the assailants.

Following the exchange, Clóvis was critically injured and rushed to the Getúlio Vargas Hospital in Penha, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Another individual who was accompanying the officer also sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
