Forecasters have good news: we will enjoy spring this weekend
Forecasters predict mild temperatures and some light rain as Lithuania welcomes the first weekend of spring.
Forecasters in Lithuania are optimistic about the upcoming weekend, predicting a transition into spring-like weather. The forecast indicates a slight chance of rain in the northwestern regions, while much of the country will see temperatures rising to between 4-9 degrees Celsius, and even up to 10-11 degrees in the southern areas on Saturday. A moderate southern wind is expected to accompany these mild temperatures.
As Lithuania enters the first calendar day of spring on Sunday, the weather may become slightly cloudier, with a chance of light rain during the day, although no significant rainfall is anticipated at night. Fog and icy conditions are expected overnight, creating a crisp morning. Winds will shift to a southwesterly direction, reaching speeds of 7-12 m/s, and daytime temperatures are projected to remain pleasantly warm, ranging from 3-8 degrees, with southern regions possibly reaching 9-10 degrees.
On Monday night, the forecast suggests that substantial rain will be largely avoided, with light rain expected during the day. Temperatures will hover around freezing at night and will rise to 2-7 degrees Celsius during the day. This weekend marks a notable shift in weather as the country begins to embrace spring, offering an encouraging outlook for residents after the colder months of winter.
