Beginning in the first week of March 2026, the City Hall of Petrolina will expand its garbage collection routes in the rural areas of Pernambuco's Sertão region. For example, Area 21 will have collection on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the morning, while other communities like Assentamento José Almeida and Vila Lagoa will have specific days designated for pickup. Notably, Vila 12 is a newly included locality in this service expansion, reflecting the government's commitment to addressing sanitation needs in previously underserved areas.
