Gangster Pawan with a bounty of 50 thousand killed in an encounter with STF, stolen pistol recovered

Gangster Pawan, who had a bounty of 50 thousand rupees, was shot dead in an encounter with the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh in Agra, where a stolen pistol was also recovered.

On February 27, the Noida unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Agra police engaged in an encounter in the Ekta area of Agra, leading to the death of gangster Pawan, also known as Kallu, who had a bounty of 50 thousand rupees on his head. After being seriously wounded during the encounter, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Pawan was a resident of Sirouli in Ghaziabad and was wanted in cases related to extortion registered at the Tajganj police station in Agra. Notably, he had also been previously listed with a bounty of one lakh rupees for involvement in a murder case in 2021, which had led to his incarceration in Delhi.

According to police reports, Pawan was identified as a shooter for the gang led by Randeep Bhati and Amit Kasana, with over 18 criminal cases registered against him, including four murder charges and two extortion cases. His network reportedly extended to link him with gangster Himanshu Bhau, who operates from the United States. The encounter reflects the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat organized crime and maintain public safety in the region, highlighting the significance of tackling gang violence.

Following the encounter, the STF recovered a 9 mm pistol and multiple cartridges from the crime scene. Investigations revealed that this firearm was stolen in 2016 from constable Monu Dhiman in the Bisrakh area of Gautam Buddh Nagar, emphasizing the ongoing issues with gun-related crime and the theft of police equipment in the region. This incident is part of a broader strategy by Indian law enforcement to address gang activities and associated illegal arms trafficking, which threaten community safety and peace.
