BJP leader Arjun Singh Patel and his brother declared wanted with a reward of 50,000 in Sultanpur

A reward of 50,000 has been announced by police for BJP leader Arjun Singh Patel and his brother Pradeep Patel in connection with the high-profile murder case of businessman Santram Agrahari in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

In a significant development regarding the infamous Santram Agrahari murder case from a year and a half ago, local BJP leader Arjun Singh Patel and his brother Pradeep Patel have been declared wanted by the police, with a reward of 50,000 rupees announced for each. The reward was proclaimed by DIG Somen Burma of the Ayodhya range, indicating a concerted effort to locate the fugitives, who have been on the run since the incident.

The announcement follows the issuance of a non-bailable warrant by the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court. Earlier this year, the Superintendent of Police, Charu Nigam, had previously set the reward at 25,000 rupees each, but has now increased it to 50,000 rupees, highlighting the urgency of the police investigation into the case. Arjun Patel has been identified as the main conspirator in the murder, with his brother Pradeep being named as a co-accused, which adds layers to the complexity of the case.

The murder of businessman Santram Agrahari occurred on the night of October 8, 2024, in the Goshaisinhpur market area of the Dostpur police station jurisdiction, where he was brutally shot. The Patel brothers, residents of Khemipur village in the Motigarpur area, have reportedly been evading capture ever since the incident, prompting the police to take extreme measures like the reward announcement to expedite their apprehension. The case has drawn significant public and media attention due to its political implications and ongoing inquiry into the criminal activities of local political leaders.
