UFU changes vestibular rules and will apply all tests on a single day
Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) announces a new single-day format for its vestibular exams starting in 2026, aimed at inclusivity and efficiency.
The Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) has announced significant changes to its vestibular exam format, which will take effect from the 2026 edition. The new format will see all testing conducted on a single day, specifically on May 17, marking a substantial shift from the previous system where the exam was divided into two separate phases. This change is intended to simplify the process and make it more accessible to a wider array of candidates.
During a press conference at the Santa Mônica campus, university representatives elaborated that the new configuration eliminates the lengthy two-day structure that previously required over ten hours of testing across separate phases. The first phase involved 88 objective questions, evenly distributed among all subjects, which candidates typically found challenging. By compressing the exam into one day, UFU aims to create a more dynamic and engaging examination environment.
The motivation behind these alterations is to align the admissions process with modern educational needs and candidate profiles, emphasizing inclusivity. UFU hopes that by streamlining the vestibular, they can cut down on stress for candidates while ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment of knowledge and skills. This reform is viewed as a progressive step in the evolution of academic admissions within Brazil.
