Results of the objective test and essay for the Ufac medical entrance exam released

The Federal University of Acre has announced the results of the medical entrance exam's objective tests and provisional essay results, with a new admissions model implemented this year.

The Federal University of Acre (Ufac) has published the final results of the objective tests and the provisional results for the essay of its medical entrance exam, held in January this year. This announcement was made on Friday, with candidates able to check the complete list of results online. Additionally, candidates can appeal against the outcomes between Thursday (19) at 10 AM and Friday (20) at 6 PM through the Cebraspe website, where the exam was organized.

This year marks the first implementation of a new admissions model for the medicine program at Ufac, having opted out of the Unified Selection System (Sisu) in favor of its own entrance exam, organized by Cebraspe. The change has been significant, especially given the competitive nature of the process, with 80 spots available for over 5,400 applicants, resulting in an average of approximately 67.8 candidates per spot. The majority of the candidates, totaling 2,873, were part of the open competition group, reflecting the high demand for medical school admissions.

The selection process underwent a substantial shift this year, indicating a strategic move by Ufac to have greater control over the selection of its students, a decision that seems to respond to the increasing competition in medical education across Brazil. With such a large number of applicants and a limited number of openings, this shift could lead to new trends in how medical professionals are trained in the region, potentially impacting the healthcare workforce in Acre in the long run.
