After electrical cable thefts, water supply is normalized in neighborhoods of Santarém
Emergency services have restored water supply in Santarém, Brazil, following cable thefts that affected over 13 neighborhoods.
Emergency repair services were completed on Thursday, addressing the critical water supply issues in Santarém, a city in the western region of Pará, Brazil. The theft of electrical cables had disrupted the water supply for residents in more than 13 neighborhoods, including Amparo, Novo Horizonte, São Cristóvão, and others. As a result of these efforts, normal water supply was successfully restored, alleviating the hardships faced by the affected population. The speedy conclusion of the services has minimized the negative impact caused by the utility disruptions. Cosanpa reported that all systems affected by the cable theft have been fully recovered and operations resumed smoothly.

The actions taken by the state government and local authorities illustrate an urgent response to ensure essential services are maintained, underscoring the importance of community resilience and proactive governance in the face of urban challenges.
