LSMU Kaunas Hospital Establishes New Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology
LSMU Kaunas Hospital is opening a new clinic that will focus on obstetrics and gynecology services, combining various specialties in one location.
LSMU Kaunas Hospital is set to establish a new clinic dedicated to obstetrics and gynecology, which will consist of four departments. The clinic aims to enhance its services by concentrating obstetrics and neonatology sections on Josvainių Street, while the Gynecology department and consultations will operate in both facilities. According to Tomas Biržietis, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, this new clinic will consolidate expertise and services that have previously been spread across different locations in an effort to provide better continuity of care.
The formation of this clinic is particularly significant as it represents a shift from the current setup where obstetrics services are being centralized from the Christian Birth House into the new facility. A united team of medical professionals from the existing departments will work at the new clinic, which emphasizes the intent to streamline care and improve patient experiences. The hospital has already been facilitating births and gynecological surgeries, and the consolidation will further strengthen the quality and range of services available in obstetrical and gynecological care.
Additionally, the hospital plans to enhance overall maternal care services by not only focusing on physical health but also providing psychological support to obstetrical patients. This holistic approach to care highlights the hospital’s commitment to addressing the comprehensive needs of mothers, especially in the early months of motherhood, where emotional well-being is crucial. The establishment of this clinic marks a significant advancement in healthcare services offered by LSMU Kaunas Hospital, aiming to provide high-quality and comprehensive care for women in the region.
