The 'D Day' of the 9th Regional Campaign Against Aedes aegypti is set for Saturday, the 28th, uniting 98 municipalities in Southern Minas Gerais. This initiative is part of the overall campaign 'Together Against Dengue' and is focused on raising awareness about the dangers of the dengue fever-carrying mosquito. The campaign illustrates the cooperative effort between local governments and the community to eliminate mosquito breeding sites through various activities.

The campaign aims to concentrate on educational activities, community clean-up events, and the eradication of mosquito breeding grounds. Local authorities, schools, and families are encouraged to participate, highlighting the importance of simple daily actions like covering water tanks, avoiding stagnant water, and keeping backyards tidy. This community engagement is vital for the campaign's success as it seeks not only to reduce the mosquito population but also to educate the public on preventive measures.

This year, the campaign expands to a total of 200 cities, including 98 in Sul de Minas, as well as 33 in the Campinas area, 37 in Ribeirão, and 32 in the Central region covered by EPTV. The varied actions in each municipality can include water accumulation material collection, informative visits, community clean-up drives, and educational drives, all tailored to address the specific needs of each locality to foster wider participation and awareness.
