Eduardo Werneck Stevens, a 31-year-old personal trainer, was gravely injured after an explosion occurred in his apartment in Foz do Iguaçu while he was cooking. His girlfriend revealed that at the time of the incident, he was in the kitchen, while she was reportedly in the bathroom. The explosion occurred in the early hours of Thursday, leading to Stevens suffering burns to approximately 80% of his body, and he is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Municipal Hospital Padre Germano Lauck.
According to the Fire Department, the explosion created a strong displacement of air that broke doors and caused significant damage to the environment. The firefighters reported that the girlfriend described the incident as an explosion followed by severe air movement, indicating the force of the blast.
