50 liters of amphetamine oil. Three men detained for large-scale drug manufacturing and distribution
Three men have been arrested in Latvia for their involvement in the illegal manufacture and distribution of various drugs, including cocaine and amphetamines.
In February of this year, the State Police of Latvia commenced a criminal investigation into the potential storage and trafficking of narcotic substances. During the investigation, it was revealed that a group consisting of three individuals was engaged in the illegal storage, distribution, and manufacturing of narcotic and psychotropic drugs. The organized group was involved in selling cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, mephedrone, MDMA tablets, and had been producing amphetamines in domestic conditions. On February 13, police from the Riga regional department's criminal police, in collaboration with the Special Task Battalion and anti-terrorism unit 'OMEGA', arrested the three suspects immediately after one kilogram of cocaine was sold in a forest in the Pieriga region, utilizing a hiding place for the transaction. The operation was part of a larger investigation that has seen authorities carry out nine searches at addresses associated with the suspects, resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of narcotic substances and preliminary evidence pointing to a substantial drug trafficking operation. Authorities are likely to intensify their efforts to crack down on drug-related crimes following this bust, which illustrates the persistent challenges Latvia faces with organized drug trafficking networks. The case not only showcases the effectiveness of coordinated police operations but also highlights the ongoing demand for narcotic substances within the region—all contributing factors that city officials and law enforcement agencies will need to address moving forward.
