Foundation empowers 10,000 youths in Benue, Borno, Plateau
The ImpactHub for Youth and Children Foundation has empowered over 10,000 young people in Nigeria through various initiatives focusing on education, mentorship, peacebuilding, and livelihood.
The ImpactHub for Youth and Children Foundation has made a significant impact on over 10,000 youths and their families across the Nigerian states of Plateau, Benue, and Borno. Through various initiatives, including education support, mentorship, peacebuilding, and livelihood programs, the foundation aims to empower young individuals who have been affected by conflict and crisis. The founder, Sunday Ochai, highlighted that these efforts are rooted in his personal experiences with crises in the region, including religious conflicts in Plateau and the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno.
Ochai shared that his motivation to start this initiative was deeply personal. Having lost both parents while in university, he faced substantial challenges that ignited his passion for helping others facing similar struggles. He believes that no young person should be hindered by the adversities surrounding them, particularly those influenced by conflict. With a mission to support and uplift the youth of Nigeria, he initiated his efforts informally in 2017 before formally establishing the organization.
The work of the ImpactHub Foundation reflects a broader trend in Nigeria, where many initiatives are emerging to address the needs of youth amid ongoing social and economic challenges. By focusing on education and personal development, organizations like ImpactHub are not only providing immediate assistance but also fostering long-term growth and resilience among young Nigerians. The implications of these efforts are profound, as they contribute to community stability and offer hope for a more peaceful future in regions plagued by crises.
