Trio arrested suspected of scamming over R$ 50,000 from elderly woman in Mogi das Cruzes

The incident took place on February 5, when one of the suspects approached the victim near the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) and pretended to sell her valuable land. By misleading her, the suspect managed to convince her to part with a large sum of money and several pieces of jewelry.
The police investigation, led by the 1st Police District of Mogi das Cruzes, utilized municipal monitoring systems to locate the vehicle used by the criminals on the day of the scam. Upon finding the vehicle, authorities arrested the suspects, one of whom allegedly confessed to the crime and was identified by the victim. The woman accompanying him was found in possession of one of the stolen pieces of jewelry valued at approximately R$ 8,000, leading to additional charges of receiving stolen goods.
