The government of Piauí has launched a smart totem that is part of a newly enhanced video monitoring system aimed at improving safety in public areas. This installation, inaugurated by the Secretary of Public Security, Antonio Luiz, allows citizens to alert the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC) via a direct emergency button. When activated, the system transmits real-time images from the camera surrounding the totem, enabling rapid police response.

This initiative is part of a broader security enhancement project which includes the deployment of a total of 16 smart totems across the capital, Teresina, and in Parnaíba, a coastal city in Piauí.
