The crime was executed under false pretenses, as the perpetrators lured the victim into believing they were interested buyers for handbags, facilitated through a social media platform. Surveillance footage captured the moment the assailants, posing as customers, entered the victim's residence.
Once inside, the male and female suspects quickly brandished a firearm, announcing the robbery and forcing the victim to surrender jewelry and handbags worth a substantial sum. The meticulous planning evident in their approach showcases the growing trend of using social media as a tool for facilitating crime, posing new challenges for law enforcement agencies.
Following the incident, investigators utilized the captured security footage and other information to identify the suspects' whereabouts, leading them to a hotel in Caseara, Tocantins.
