In a bizarre incident in Taguatinga, Brazil, two young men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested after allegedly hiding in a shopping mall bathroom and stealing valuable jewelry and items from a store during the early hours of January 16. According to the Civil Police, the suspects, who belong to a criminal organization, were captured on security footage entering the bathroom with backpacks around 8:30 pm on January 15, before fleeing the shopping mall with the stolen goods around 3:45 am the following day.

The stolen jewelry and items are estimated to be worth R$ 280,000 and have yet to be recovered. The police have indicated that they will charge the suspects with qualified theft, a serious crime in Brazil that carries penalties of up to 8 years in prison along with hefty fines.
