Individuals Pretended to be Police to Murder Four People in Simón Bolívar, Guayas
Four individuals were murdered in a coordinated attack by armed assailants posing as police in Simón Bolívar, Ecuador.
Residents of El Paraíso, located on the road to Pueblo Nuevo in Simón Bolívar canton, experienced a terrifying incident when armed individuals carried out a multiple shooting. The attack took place at 2:00 AM on Thursday, February 26, as the assailants arrived on motorcycles and falsely identified themselves as police officers to gain entry into a residence. They forcibly broke down the door and opened fire on four individuals inside the home.
When the police from the Jujan-Simón Bolívar district arrived, they found the four victims without vital signs, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The deceased were discovered in different locations within the house; two bodies were found in a bedroom, one in a hallway, and another in a separate bedroom. Among the victims was Marcos Uriña, known as Niño Malo, a 24-year-old with a criminal record related to drug trafficking and possession of stolen goods, highlighting the possible narcotics connection of this tragic event.
