The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) in Montes Claros is actively conducting a campaign to gather donations for those affected by heavy flooding in the Zona da Mata, particularly in the municipalities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá. The initiative aims to engage both the legal community and society at large to support affected families, including fellow lawyers who have suffered losses due to the severe weather conditions.

The OAB is specifically collecting non-perishable food, water, clothing, personal hygiene products, and other essential items to assist those in need. Donations can be dropped off at two designated collection points provided by the organization. This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment of the legal profession to stand by the community during difficult times, underscoring the importance of unity and support in adversity.

The president of the 11th Section of OAB emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that lawyers have always been present to assist society in challenging moments. This current campaign reflects that commitment and seeks to mobilize the legal community not only to provide material support but also to reinforce the message that together, they can overcome these challenges effectively.
