IPTU 2026: deadline for 11% discount ends this Friday (27) in Manaus

Residents of Manaus have until this Friday to benefit from an 11% discount on the payment of the Urban Property and Real Estate Tax (IPTU) 2026 if paid in a single installment through the Manaus Atende app.

Residents of Manaus have until this Friday, the 27th, to take advantage of an 11% discount when paying the Urban Property and Real Estate Tax (IPTU) for 2026 in a single installment. This discount is only available if the payment is made via the digital ticket through the Manaus Atende app, emphasizing the city's push towards digital payment solutions for municipal taxes. Additionally, those opting for the digital payment method can benefit from up to 2% off for each installment paid by the due date, highlighting incentives designed to encourage timely payments.

The IPTU can be settled at any bank, including digital options, making it more accessible for residents. In case of any doubts regarding the payments, residents are encouraged to contact the Central Service at 156, available Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The subsecretary of Revenue at the Municipal Treasury, Armínio Pontes, noted that after this final deadline for the single installment discount, taxpayers can still pay the tax in a single installment with a 10% discount until March 16, although this later discount will not be available for those using the app.

The emphasis on digital payments is part of a broader initiative by local government to streamline tax collection and enhance convenience for taxpayers, particularly in urban areas where residents may be looking for more efficient methods of handling their civic responsibilities. These measures not only make tax compliance easier but can also improve overall municipal revenue by encouraging timely payments and reducing administrative burdens associated with traditional payment methods.
