Trio suspected of fraud of more than R$ 1 million against Caixa is arrested in Jacareí, SP

Three men suspected of committing over R$ 1 million in fraud against the Caixa Econômica Federal were arrested in Jacareí, São Paulo.

Three men have been arrested in Jacareí, São Paulo, suspected of orchestrating a significant fraud scheme against Caixa Econômica Federal, amounting to more than R$ 1 million. The arrests occurred on a Wednesday afternoon as the suspects were returning to São Paulo after reportedly executing fraudulent transactions at a lottery house in Coronel Pacheco, Minas Gerais. The Federal Police of Brazil, upon discovering the suspects' route back to the capital, alerted the State Highway Police who successfully intercepted the vehicle transporting the suspects on the Carvalho Pinto highway.

During the police intervention, authorities uncovered extensive evidence of fraudulent activity including hundreds of receipts from banking transactions and a considerable amount of cash found inside the vehicle. According to the Federal Police, the suspects had been targeting the lottery house by paying fake bills, managing to defraud the establishment with at least 188 fraudulent invoices.
