Chefs from Latvia will also participate in the most prestigious culinary competition in the world
Latvian chefs will represent their country at the Bocuse d’Or Europe 2026 competition in Marseille, showcasing national culinary excellence on an international stage.
In March of this year, Latvia's national culinary team, consisting of the country's leading chefs, will travel to Marseille, France, to represent Latvia in the prestigious international competition 'Bocuse d'Or Europe 2026.' Latvia has participated in the national Bocuse d’Or competition since 2019 and will be competing in the European stage for the fourth consecutive time. The Bocuse d'Or is regarded as the most authoritative high gastronomy event in the world, often referred to as the 'Culinary Olympics.'
The participation in the European qualifying round highlights the professional level of the team and is a significant step towards increasing the recognition of national gastronomy on the international stage. From March 15 to 16, 20 teams from various European countries will compete in Marseille for the chance to advance to the world finals of the competition. Notably, this year marks the first time in the history of the European qualifying rounds that all three Baltic states will compete on the same stage, enhancing regional culinary visibility.
Over the two days of competition, the teams will demonstrate the highest level of culinary skills, innovative approaches, flawless techniques, and the ability to work at maximum efficiency. This event not only showcases individual chefs but also elevates the profile of Latvian cuisine and its representatives among an audience of culinary experts and enthusiasts globally.
