Weather changes are here, winter gradually loses its power

Weather in Lithuania is shifting towards warmer temperatures with some cloudy conditions and a low probability of snow.

In Lithuania, recent weather patterns indicate a significant shift as winter recedes and milder temperatures approach. The forecast highlights considerable cloudiness, particularly in the eastern regions during the first half of the day. Although there may be occasional glimpses of sunshine, the likelihood of substantial snowfall remains low, with only a few flakes possibly falling from thicker clouds. The cold night temperatures have resulted in icy conditions, posing a risk for pedestrians, while winds from the south and southeast will range between 7 to 12 m/s, potentially stronger along the coastline.

As Friday approaches, a cyclone carrying warm air from the Atlantic Ocean will begin to influence the weather. While some areas in northern Lithuania may experience light precipitation, the existing ice is expected to persist, causing continued discomfort for residents. The temperature during the night will drop to between 2 to 7 degrees Celsius below zero, with coastal areas hovering around 0 degrees. Daytime temperatures are set to rise across the country, reaching between 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, marking a departure from the chill of winter.

Looking ahead to Saturday and the entire weekend, the warm spring-like temperatures are anticipated to continue, further contributing to the gradual transition away from winter cold. This shift not only affects daily life in Lithuania but also signals changes in the seasonal climate that may impact various aspects of life including agriculture and energy consumption as people adapt to the warming conditions.
