Warm weather will sweep in from mid-week

Lithuania is set to experience a rise in temperatures as the country moves into the middle of the week, with snow remaining occasional and mostly light.

As the week progresses, Lithuania will remain under the influence of an anticyclone, with minimal changes expected in weather conditions for the early part of the week. On Tuesday night, temperatures are predicted to drop between 18 to 23 degrees Celsius below zero, especially in southern and western regions where it may cool to between 12 and 17 degrees. The likelihood of snow will remain low, with only light snowfall anticipated in some areas, mainly in the southeast, while the wind is expected to be gentle, particularly along the coast.

Throughout Tuesday, atmospheric pressure is forecasted to gradually decrease, leading to an increase in cloud coverage over the country. Despite the clouds, occasional sun may appear, and light snowfall is again possible in select areas, primarily the southeast. Highs will reach between 7 to 12 degrees Celsius below zero, continuing the trend of cold weather into the day. On Wednesday night, Lithuania will find itself between high-pressure systems in the east and low pressures in the west, resulting in predominantly cloudy skies, with the eastern side of the country potentially experiencing brief spells of light snow.

Wednesday is expected to remain bleak without significant precipitation on the horizon. The southeastern winds will remain mild, and temperatures will fluctuate between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius, with colder spots potentially dipping as low as 14 to 18 degrees if clear skies develop for longer periods. Overall, while the early week will capture cold winter conditions, a gradual transition to slightly warmer weather will begin as mid-week approaches.
