Ajibade, Monday, and nine others join Super Falcons camp ahead of Cameroon friendly

Rasheedat Ajibade and nine other players have joined the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé, Cameroon, in preparation for friendly matches against the host country.

Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons, alongside nine other players, has reported to the team's camp in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This gathering is in preparation for two friendly matches against the Cameroonian national team scheduled for March 3 and 7, 2023. The team will utilize the facilities at Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo for their training, with practice sessions set to commence at 4:30 p.m. each day as more players join the camp.

Media Officer Mary Akinsola has confirmed that several players have come in, including notable athletes from various international leagues. Among them are Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene from Canada, Glory Ogbonna based in Israel, and Joy Omewa, who plays for Nottingham Forest in England. Other participants in the camp include players from different clubs and countries, showcasing the team’s depth and talent ahead of the upcoming matches.

These friendly games against Cameroon are part of the Super Falcons' preparation for the 13th Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place from March 13 to April 3, 2026. The team aims to strengthen its cohesion and performance ahead of this important continental tournament, where they will face tough competition. The matches will serve not only as preparation but also as a strategic opportunity to build team chemistry and test tactics before WAFCON commences.
