On Wednesday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) of Nigeria presented its budget estimates for the 2026 fiscal year to the Senate, aiming for an internally generated revenue (IGR) of 23.8 billion naira. This projection indicates an increase of 4 billion naira compared to the 2025 revenue targets. The budget presentation was made by Dr. Muftau Bello, a Director in JAMB, alongside the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede. The agency indicated that part of its revenue, approximately 6 billion naira, would be contributed to the Federation Account as operating surplus.

In total, JAMB proposed a comprehensive budget profile of 30.6 billion naira for the year 2026. Alongside these financial projections, JAMB is also expanding its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centres to 1,000.
