The Kano State Government of Nigeria has officially announced that the Eid al-Fitr holiday for all public and private primary and post-primary schools will commence on March 1, 2026. This information was communicated by Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, the Director of Public Enlightenment for the Kano State Ministry of Education. The announcement aligns with the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 school year, confirming that the second term will conclude on February 28, 2026.

In the statement, it was emphasized that all day and boarding schools throughout Kano State are expected to observe this holiday break starting on March 1. Parents and guardians have been advised to ensure that students in boarding schools are returned home by the early hours of February 27, 2026, to allow for a smooth transition into the holiday. Additionally, it was noted that there are specific dates for resumption, with boarding students set to return on March 22 and day students on March 23, following the break.
