On Thursday, there will be slippery roads
On Thursday, road conditions in Estonia will be slippery due to a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain moving across the country.
On Thursday night, a cold high-pressure system will retreat behind Estonia's eastern border as a low-pressure system from the Baltic Sea expands. By midnight, southerly winds will increase, bringing the first snow clouds towards the northwest. In the morning, the precipitation will intensify, moving inland, with sleet and freezing rain expected over the islands, necessitating caution due to slippery roads. During the day, winds will continue to rise, and the precipitation band will shift eastward, initially bringing snow and blizzards, followed by sleet and freezing rain that will make the roads hazardous. Northern Estonia will experience heavier precipitation compared to southern regions, where conditions will be weaker, and temperatures will remain below zero on the mainland while rising above freezing on the islands.
