The Lithuanian telethon "Radarom. Kova nesibaigė" aired on LRT Television, raising over 4 million euros to support Ukraine amid ongoing conflict. The event featured live connections with journalists in Ukraine, reports from the frontlines, discussions in the studio, and an evening concert. This fundraising initiative aimed to convert public support into tangible aid for Ukrainian defenders, including the purchase of a drone squad set to arrive in Ukraine in approximately two weeks.
During the final concert, a special auction took place, offering unique memorabilia, including a Ukrainian flag signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky and a Lithuanian flag signed by former President Dalia Grybauskaitė. The event also saw significant contributions from businesses, with "NT Service" pledging over 500,000 euros for necessary equipment for Ukrainian soldiers. Other notable donations included 100,000 euros each from companies "Telia Lietuva" and "Light Conversions," demonstrating widespread public and corporate support for Ukraine.
This telethon not only highlights the ongoing solidarity of Lithuanians with Ukraine but also reflects the urgency and determination to provide necessary resources to those fighting against aggression. With rapid mobilization of funds into actionable assistance, Lithuania continues to play a vital role in supporting Ukraine during these challenging times, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
