Last week, police in Estonia's Ida-Viru County arrested five men who are suspected of being involved in the trafficking of significant quantities of narcotic substances in the towns of Jõhvi and Kohtla-Järve. The arrests were initiated following community tips regarding suspicious activities in the area, prompting local law enforcement to take action.

The investigation was led by an investigator from the Ida Police Prefecture's special cases unit, Olga Bertrami, who stated that information gathered from the community played a crucial role in the operation. This highlights the importance of community engagement in crime detection and prevention, demonstrating a collaborative effort between residents and law enforcement.

Following the arrests, two of the detained men have been remanded in custody by the court at the request of the Viru District Prosecutor's Office, indicating the severity of the charges they face.
