Gwalior-Bhind-Itawa Highway to Become Four-Lane, DPR in Final Stage
The important NH-719 highway connecting Madhya Pradesh and Western Uttar Pradesh is set to be upgraded to a four-lane road as the Detailed Project Report has been nearly completed.
The NH-719 highway, which connects Madhya Pradesh and Western Uttar Pradesh, is soon to undergo a significant transformation into a four-lane highway. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has almost completed the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project. Following the assignment of responsibilities from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the NHAI is poised to commence construction in the upcoming months. With a total length of approximately 117 kilometers, this upgrade is crucial due to the existing two-lane road suffering from heavy traffic pressure, accommodating around 20,000 vehicles daily.
The four-laning project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion significantly and will include the construction of bypasses and the resolution of 'black spots' where accidents frequently occur. According to the regional office of the NHAI, this initiative is anticipated to be a milestone in the comprehensive development of the Gwalior-Chambal region, contributing to enhanced connectivity and development in the area. Coordination with district administration has already been established to ensure timely implementation of the project without delays.
Moreover, this upgrade is expected to bring five major benefits, primarily boosting connectivity in the region. The transformation of this highway is anticipated to play a vital role in the overall infrastructure development of the districts it traverses and contribute to the economic growth of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh through improved transportation facilities.
