Pay 5 Thousand, the Paper Will Be Solved... How Copying Took Place in Board Exams in UP!

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested six individuals involved in a cheating racket during the 2026 UP Board examinations.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (SPTF) has successfully dismantled a cheating racket responsible for organized copying in the UP Board examinations, leading to the arrest of six individuals. The operation took place during the high school and intermediate examinations conducted by the UP Secondary Education Council, specifically near the Shri Maharaj Singh Memorial Inter College in the Beverw area of Mainpuri district. Among those arrested were the son of the school manager, a teacher, and several 'solvers' who were directly assisting students in cheating during the exams.

The SPTF's investigation revealed that the gang had engaged in elaborate methods to facilitate cheating by utilizing hired solvers. Authorities recovered two written intermediate mathematics answer sheets, an original biology question paper, a seating plan, information on absent candidates, and six mobile phones from the suspects. The arrested individuals had established a pricing scheme, charging 5,000 rupees per paper for their services, and they would solve the copies before the end of the examination, thereby undermining the integrity of the academic testing process.

This incident highlights the significant challenges faced by educational institutions in combating exam malpractices, particularly in collaboration with some school administrative personnel. The involvement of teachers and school staff raises concerns about systemic corruption within the education system. Such occurrences not only affect the legitimacy of the board exams but also have broader implications for the educational standards and ethical practices in the state of Uttar Pradesh, necessitating urgent reforms and stricter oversight to restore accountability in the examination process.
