The SPA 059/345 highway, linking Nuporanga and São José da Bela Vista in the Ribeirão Preto region of São Paulo, is set to close for approximately 12 months due to emergency repairs necessitated by damage from heavy rains. The closure will affect a stretch of the highway between kilometers 5.8 and 18, starting from September 25. The São Paulo Department of Highways (DER-SP) has stated that the repairs will address significant safety concerns that have arisen due to the compromised state of the road.

Authorities have emphasized that the situation is critical and requires immediate intervention to restore safe travel conditions. As a result of the closure, motorists will need to find alternative routes to connect with neighboring towns, including Franca, Ribeirão Preto, Batatais, São Joaquim da Barra, Orlândia, and Sales Oliveira. The recommended detours will utilize nearby highways such as SP-334, SP-345, and SP-351.
