Kretinga District Municipality will allocate funds for the encouragement of medical staff

The Kretinga District Municipality plans to allocate over 200,000 euros to support medical staff through bonuses at local healthcare institutions.

The Kretinga District Municipality has announced plans to allocate more than 200,000 euros to support local medical professionals at Kretinga Hospital and the Kretinga Primary Health Care Center. The funding will be distributed with 151,800 euros going to Kretinga Hospital and 48,500 euros to the Primary Health Care Center for additional staff bonuses. This initiative is a response to the ongoing challenges faced by the healthcare sector in maintaining adequate staffing levels and motivation among medical personnel.

According to Vaida Jakumienė, the Deputy Mayor of Kretinga, this financial backing is aimed at providing additional incentives for doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants to continue their essential work. Furthermore, the Kretinga Primary Health Care Center will use part of these funds to encourage family physicians, dentists, visiting specialists, lifestyle medicine specialists, and social workers, thus broadening the scope of support to a more extensive healthcare team.

The municipality's support is seen as a crucial measure to help these healthcare institutions retain their staff and ensure accessibility of medical services to the residents of Kretinga. With rising demands on healthcare resources, the hope is that these bonuses will foster a more stable healthcare workforce, which is critical for delivering quality care within the community.
