Construction of the Kretinga Hospital's Emergency and Urgent Care Department Completed
The construction of an extension at Kretinga Hospital has been completed, featuring new facilities for emergency care and various medical departments.
The Kretinga Hospital has completed the construction of a nearly 500 square meter extension dedicated to the emergency and urgent care department. This new facility includes a waiting area for patients, an observation room, examination rooms for children, as well as treatment and surgery rooms, highlighting significant advancements in the hospital's emergency services. This extension also features a specialized area for ambulances, allowing for direct access to the patient waiting zone, which enhances the overall response time for emergency medical situations.
Local authorities, including Kretinga's mayor Antanas Kalnius, have noted that over the past 5-6 years, the municipality has invested approximately 1.7 million euros into the Kretinga Hospital, alongside an additional 1.5 million euros from European Union funds. The construction project, valued at nearly 1.7 million euros, was undertaken by the winning company 'Ivro', with funding shared between EU grants and the local budget. This level of investment underscores the importance placed on enhancing healthcare facilities in the region.
Furthermore, Kretinga Hospital allocated over 100 thousand euros for the acquisition of new equipment and furnishings for the newly established department. This investment is expected to not only improve patient care but also meet the growing medical needs of the community, demonstrating a commitment to advancing healthcare services in Kretinga and fostering better health outcomes for the local population.
