Elkjøp Nordic has purchased Eplehuset, a chain of 25 stores in Norway, pending regulatory approval.
Elkjøp Nordic, a leading electronics retailer in Norway, has announced its acquisition of Eplehuset, a chain recognized for its Apple products and customer service excellence. With 25 stores across the nation, Eplehuset has built a strong brand identity that Elkjøp aims to preserve. While the exact purchase price remains undisclosed, both companies have agreed to keep it confidential until further notice.
Fredrik Tønnesen, CEO of Elkjøp Nordic, expressed admiration for Eplehuset's corporate culture, stating it has set the 'gold standard' for Apple customers. Despite receiving other acquisition offers in the past, Tønnesen noted that the opportunity to acquire Eplehuset sparked immediate interest, highlighting the chain’s unique attributes that align with Elkjøp's market vision. He emphasized that the essence and branding of Eplehuset will remain intact as they integrate into Elkjøp’s operations.
In addition to maintaining Eplehuset's brand and concept, the acquisition marks a strategic move for Elkjøp as it looks to strengthen its position within the corporate market. Eplehuset will operate as a subsidiary within the Elkjøp group, allowing for both companies to benefit from shared resources while continuing to serve their respective customer bases effectively. This acquisition reflects Elkjøp's commitment to growth and innovation within the electronics retail sector in Norway.
