Sukhoi Strikes Enemy Runways and Bases, MiG-29 Destroys Tanks in 'Air Power' at Pokhran
The Indian Air Force demonstrated its operational readiness through a full-dress rehearsal of the 'Air Power-2026' exercise in Pokhran, Rajasthan, showcasing advanced combat capabilities and coordination.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a comprehensive rehearsal of the 'Air Power-2026' exercise at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan, emphasizing its striking capabilities and integrated combat skills. The showcase featured a series of simulations where various IAF aircraft executed precise attacks on designated targets, demonstrating their readiness for real combat situations. The rehearsal highlighted the IAF's advancements in technology and tactics, reinforcing its commitment to national security.
Key highlights of the exercise included a powerful opening by the Rafale fighter jets that created a sonic boom, followed by the Sukhoi-30 MKI dropping a total of 44 bombs on enemy runways and installations. The MiG-29 was also noted for successfully destroying tank convoys, while the Jaguar strike aircraft executed attacks in a defensive formation. Other aircraft, such as the Mirage-2000 and various helicopters, played critical roles in the mock operations, targeting simulated enemy installations like radars and ammunition depots.
Furthermore, helicopters such as the Apache and Chinook were instrumental in logistical support during the exercise, with the Chinook delivering crucial artillery equipment and special forces deploying from helicopters to neutralize simulated terrorist positions. The successful execution of a night assault landing by the C-130J Hercules showcased the IAF's capabilities in complex and diverse operational scenarios, underscoring the importance of air power in modern warfare.
