Lithuania's Minister of National Defense, R. Kaunas, announced the transfer of 30 RBS missiles to Ukraine during his visit to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the large-scale war. This military support aims to strengthen Ukraine's air defense at a critical time when it faces increasing threats from Russian attacks, particularly on its civilian energy infrastructure. Kaunas emphasized Lithuania's commitment to assist Ukraine, demonstrating solidarity as part of the broader international response to Russian aggression.

The announcement was made following bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The discussions were part of a series of meetings held in Kyiv, which included representatives from the 'Coalition of the Willing' and Northern and Baltic (NB8) countries. Kaunas highlighted the importance of providing Ukraine with the necessary tools to fend off winter assaults by Russia, which have targeted crucial energy resources.

Additionally, Lithuania has previously supported Ukraine by donating essential supplies, including 90 generators valued over 2 million euros to assist during the coldest months of January and February 2026. As Russia continues to escalate its military actions, the need for robust defense mechanisms has become paramount, and Lithuania's contributions signify a commitment to reinforcing Ukraine's defense capabilities against ongoing aggression.
