Detran reduces the cost of medical and psychological exams for obtaining a driver's license in Pernambuco
The cost of medical and psychological exams required for obtaining a driver's license in Pernambuco has been reduced to R$ 180 following a recent announcement by Detran.
The Department of Traffic in Pernambuco (Detran) has announced a decrease in the fees for medical and psychological exams necessary for obtaining the National Driver's License (CNH). This reduction, published in the State Official Gazette, sets the total cost of all required tests at R$ 180. The new prices include R$ 80.70 for the physical and mental fitness exam and R$ 99.30 for the psychological evaluation, ensuring adherence to the maximum national values established by the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran).
This initiative aims to balance the costs incurred by applicants while maintaining service quality provided by accredited professionals. Recently, the practical driving exam criteria were also amended; the requirements for maneuvering in a parking space (baliza) and ramp tests were eliminated starting February 12. These changes reflect a broader effort to streamline the process of obtaining a driver's license, potentially making it more accessible to candidates.
The adjustments in exam costs and test requirements are designed to ease the financial burden on prospective drivers in Pernambuco while ensuring that they still receive a comprehensive assessment of their driving abilities. This move is likely to encourage more individuals to pursue their CNH, contributing to a more mobile population and addressing transportation needs in the region.
