Student ID 2026 begins to be issued in digital format in Greater Recife; learn how to request it

Students in the Greater Recife area can now apply for the 2026 digital Student Identification Card to access public transport benefits and cultural event discounts.

Students from both public and private schools, as well as preparatory courses in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, are now able to apply for the 2026 version of the Student Identification Card (CIE) in a digital format. The application process can be accessed through the official websites of CIE and the Greater Recife Metropolitan Transport Consortium, with an associated cost of R$19. This new digital initiative is expected to simplify the process for approximately 1 million students spanning preschool, elementary, high school, and technical education across the 14 municipalities in the Greater Recife area.

The digital card grants students crucial benefits, including half-price public transport fares and reduced admission fees for cultural events. The system is designed with integration to educational institutions, allowing existing users to log in with their CPF and password, verify their personal information, and await school confirmation. New users will have to create an account to access the system and follow a provided step-by-step guide for the application process.

Once the payment is confirmed, the digital Student ID is generated and made available within 72 hours. This initiative not only aims to enhance accessibility for students but also aims to streamline bureaucratic processes associated with obtaining student identification, working towards a more efficient system for students in the region.
