The city of Recife has announced the opening of 800 vacancies in free vocational courses that cater to individuals aged 14 and older, depending on the selected training program. These courses are offered across 11 vocational schools distributed throughout the city, and applications can be submitted via the GO Recife platform. The vocational courses have varying durations from 40 to 100 hours and are scheduled for morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. According to the city administration, these courses aim to equip participants with skills that enhance their employability or assist in starting their own small businesses. Some of the key courses include subjects such as electrical commands, basic computer skills, English and Spanish for beginners, and even applied artificial intelligence.
The initiative underscores Recife's commitment to expanding access to education and vocational training to help residents improve their job prospects. By providing a range of courses that cater to different interests and industries, the program seeks to address local workforce needs and prepare students for the evolving job market, particularly in areas with growing demands like technology and digital literacy.
