20 businesses led by women in Oriximiná, Terra Santa and Faro selected to receive investments from the Rema Project

Twenty women-led businesses in Oriximiná, Terra Santa, and Faro, Brazil, have been selected to receive investments to boost entrepreneurship in the region.

The official results of the funding notice from the Women's Entrepreneurial Network Project (Projeto Rede Empreendedora de Mulheres Amazônidas - REMA) were announced on Monday, the 23rd. Twenty businesses led by women in Oriximiná, Terra Santa, and Faro, located in the western part of Pará state, have been chosen to receive financial support aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in these areas. This initiative represents a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs in a predominantly rural and economically challenged part of Brazil.

The REMA project, implemented by the Association of Organizations of Women Workers of Baixo Amazonas (AOMTBAM) in partnership with Mineração Rio do Norte (MRN), aims to strengthen the economic autonomy and social leadership of women facing territorial vulnerabilities. Selected projects will receive direct support in the form of seed capital (an investment in the form of supplies and equipment valued at R$ 1,000) along with 10 hours of specialized technical mentorship, which will equip these women entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in their endeavors.

This initiative not only provides essential financial backing but also fosters a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs in the region. By enhancing their skills and providing the necessary resources, the REMA project aims to create sustainable business models that can thrive, thus contributing to the overall economic growth of communities in Oriximiná, Terra Santa, and Faro. The successful selection of these businesses highlights a growing recognition of the role that women play in economic development, particularly in marginalized areas of Brazil.
