Tourist bus accidentally drives out of garage, hits office and leaves two injured in Uberaba

A tourist bus in Uberaba unexpectedly moved out of the garage and struck an office, injuring two individuals.

On Monday night in Uberaba, a tourist bus operated by a local company moved on its own from the garage and crashed into the company’s office, resulting in injuries to two people. The incident occurred in the São Benedito neighborhood when the bus, which was parked with the engine running and the handbrake engaged, began to roll downhill despite safety precautions in place. Witnesses report that passengers were waiting to board the bus for a trip to São Paulo when the bus descended into the office building, destroying walls and part of the roof in addition to injuring individuals present for payment. The impact was significant enough to breach a second wall, leaving the bus precariously lodged above the public sidewalk. The collision also caused the bus to hit the electrical panel of the company, creating a serious risk of electric shock. Consequently, local authorities had to take immediate action to isolate the area and address the safety issues stemming from the incident, highlighting concerns about operational safety protocols for vehicles even while parked and unattended.
